CoinShadowwallet alerts on Base

What is the best free crypto wallet tracker?

It depends on whether you want a portfolio view or alerts. For alerts on a few addresses, a block explorer watch list or a Telegram bot are both genuinely free. Portfolio and analytics platforms mostly offer trials rather than free tiers.

Searches for a free wallet tracker cover two different products. One is a portfolio view: what an address holds, and what it is worth. The other is alerting: telling you when an address moves. Most complaints about a tracker being "not really free" come from expecting one and finding the other.

Free tiers that are actually free

**Block explorer watch lists.** Checked on 4 September 2026, Etherscan’s watch list tracks addresses you choose and emails you when incoming or outgoing transactions occur, with adjustable notification settings including the type of token transfer. It requires a registered account, which their own documentation describes as free. Basescan is the same software for Base. This is a real free feature and for many people it is enough.

**Telegram bots.** Free tiers here are usually capped by number of addresses rather than by time. CoinShadow watches three addresses free, permanently, with no account.

"Free" that means a trial

Analytics platforms tend to advertise a free trial rather than a free tier. Checked on the same date, whale-alert.io advertises its dashboard as free for seven days and prompts an upgrade for full analytics. A trial is fine, but it is a different thing, and it is worth checking which one you are signing up for before connecting anything.

There is also a subtler cost: free tiers that require an email address, a wallet connection, or an account tied to your identity. For reading public data, none of those are technically necessary, and each is a thing you have given away.

What to actually compare

For alerting, four questions separate the useful from the annoying. How many addresses does the free tier cover, and forever or for a fortnight? Where does the alert arrive, and will you see it? Can you filter by value, or does every dust transfer arrive? And is there a cap, so one busy address cannot flood you?

The last two are what decide whether you are still using it in a month. Almost every tracker works well on a quiet wallet. The differences only appear on a busy one.

Chains

Check the chain before anything else. A tracker that is excellent on Solana and absent on Base is not a tracker for you if your addresses are on Base, and the address format looking familiar does not mean it is supported.

Do it in CoinShadow

CoinShadow watches three addresses on Base free, with no account, no email and no wallet connection. Tap Add wallet and paste an address.

The paid plan raises the limit to twenty-five and adds a minimum dollar value per address. The thirty-messages-per-hour cap applies on both, so a busy wallet cannot flood the chat either way.

Questions

Is there a genuinely free crypto wallet tracker?

Yes. Block explorer watch lists email you on address activity with a free account, and some Telegram bots have permanent free tiers capped by address count rather than by time.

Do I need an account?

For a block explorer watch list, yes. For CoinShadow, no: opening the bot is the whole of the setup.

Can a free tracker filter by dollar value?

Rarely, because pricing every transfer costs the operator money. On CoinShadow the threshold is the main paid feature.

What about memecoin and new-token tracking?

Token transfers are reported like any other movement. Be aware that a dollar value for a thinly traded token is unreliable, so a threshold may filter unpredictably.
